Puterea echipei miau miau

Title screen for episode 16.

Puterea Echipei Miau Miau, which translates to Mew Mew Team's Power, is the Romanian version of Tokyo Mew Mew. Like with most European countries, the MMP version aired, however it was subtitled only. The show started airing in late 2005 on channel A+ (Anime+), with new episodes showing every Saturday and Sunday. Re-runs started showing on 7 January 2006 on and later in February - May 2008, on Animax, a channel which replaced A+ in July 2007. Despite using the MMP version, the original episode order was preserved.

Just like with the title, some terms were changed. The transformation phrase was changed to "Medalionul puterii, activat!" (Power pendant, activated!") for the first episode and "Medalionul Puterii! Metamorfoză!" (Power Pendant! Metamorphosis!) for the rest of the episodes. Ichigo's/Zoey's Mew Rap/Catchphrase rhyme was changed to "Stilul Miau Miau, graţia Miau Miau, puterea Miau Miau împotriva ta!" (translates to "Mew Mew Style, Mew Mew Grace, Mew Mew Power Against You!"). The mew puns are removed and changed to just plain words (e.g. mewtilate -> mutilate).

Trivia[]

  • This version could also be received in Serbia but only for some seconds because after Minimax shut down and Animax turned on the signal usually went dark right after but some snippets could be received throughout the night.
  • The official synopsis on the A+ channel site reads as following: "On her first date with the cutest boy in the school, Ichigo is hit by a mysterious beam that combines her ADN with that of a wildcat. The following day, Ichigo discovers that she has the agility (and, occasionally, tail and ears) of a cat, as well as the power to transform in a pink-haired super-heroine, Mew Ichigo. She and four more girls, each gifted with the abilities of a different Red Data animal, have been selected for the secret project Mew Project, whose goal is to protect the Earth from a group of aliens known as Deep Blue", indicating that the proposed version for broadcast was originally Tokyo Mew Mew.
  • It can be speculate that the first episode (12 in TMM order) was skipped in the first airing, as it is absent from the episode list on the A+ site.
